An Introduction 

Seychelles is a tropical archipelago located off the coast of East Africa. It is a cluster of 115 islands situated in the Indian Ocean about 1600kms east of Kenya and 1100kms northeast of Madagascar. This beautiful island country proclaimed its independence from British rule in 1976. It boasts of a cultural mix of British, French, African, and in the most recent times, Chinese and Indian influences. Victoria is the capital city of Seychelles.

Vallee de Mai on Praslin 

Located on the island of Praslin, Vallee de Mai is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is a nature reserve with the stunning Coco de Mer palms endemic to the Seychelles region. The ancient forest filled with almost 4000 Coco de Mer palms will leave you enchanted and speechless. The magical forest of Valle de Mai is also called the “Garden of Eden” due to its mystic and the warm green glow it emanates. The Coco de Mer palms produce the most giant and heaviest seeds in the world. You can also spot the rare black parrot and the unique Seychellois bulbul in the forest. 

Boat Trip

Island hopping on a boat? Sounds like a plan! This boat trip experience should be a must on your Seychelles itinerary. Visit the St.Pierre island, famous for its snorkeling activities, the Curieuse Islands for its expansive mango forests, and the Cousin islands to explore its diverse wildlife. They have shells as big as a bathtub and are a delight to watch.
