If you are staying in a hotel, then room service can burn a hole in your pocket. Or even if you decide to eat out, most of the times you will be tired to head out to eat.

In cases like these, knowing a few dishes you can easily make in your hotel room is a life-saver. Most hotels nowadays have an electric kettle in the room with a selection of tea and coffee with sugar and creamer packets. If you are going to be staying in a hostel then carrying one is also a viable option.

Here are some healthy and filling dishes you can make in your hotel room with an electric kettle.

1. Boiled Eggs

Boiled eggs are one of the best healthy and filling options that can be easily and quickly made with minimal efforts. Place the eggs in the kettle and fill it up with water so that it’s a level above the eggs.

Make sure that the eggs aren’t touching the heating element by tilting it to one side. Let the water boil for 10-13 minutes, then remove the eggs and put it in a bowl of cold water. Peel and cut in halves. Sprinkle some salt, pepper, and chilli powder and you have a delicious snack or breakfast ready.

2. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is another easy breakfast or snack option, that is healthy as well as filling. Instant oatmeal is a great choice for a quick meal. Boil water in an electric kettle, pour your oatmeal in a bowl, add boiled water, stir it well and your instant oatmeal is ready.

3. Instant Noodles

Like oatmeal, instant noodles is a viable option and way tastier than oatmeal although not as healthy. Put your water to boil in the kettle, then add the boiling water to your instant noodles cup. Stir it according to the instructions and you are done with your instant tasty slurpy concoction.

4. Rice Meal

If you want a proper meal, this is the way to go. Soak rice for 20 minutes in water, it makes it easier to cook and chop all the vegetables you like. Add all these ingredients in the kettle with some salt to taste.

Add spices such as ginger, garlic, fresh chilli, and coriander. Turn the kettle on and let it cook for about 20 minutes. Your rice meal is ready.

5. Miso Soup with Nori and Tofu

If you are in a mood for something fancy then this is the recipe for you. Boil water in the kettle, place the needed miso in a bowl. While the water is boiling, chop the tofu into small cubes and slice nori into thin strips.

Add the needed amount of boiling water according to the miso instructions in the bowl. Add the tofu and nori in the bowl. You can also add onions, sprouts, etc. if you like. Stir and you have a delicious meal ready.
