travel in 2021

The global pandemic hasn’t gone anywhere, but things are slowly getting better. If you’re absolutely bent upon traveling in a safe and responsible way, there are places that you can visit with your loved ones, or alone!

Make sure that you follow all the safety precautions if you’re planning to travel anywhere. Most places will require you to take a COVID19 test. While non-essential travel is still frowned upon right now in many countries, you can be safe and make a small trip to a country that’s closest to yours for a quick get-away.

Whenever possible, try to travel in your own country rather than going international. A warning: most of the places on our list are not currently allowing Americans to visit due to the high number of cases.

Canada

When you think of an exotic vacation destination, you probably don’t think of neighborly Canada: but you should! It’s been ranked one of the safest places according to the Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, and it has also handled the pandemic efficiently.

Canada has beautiful sights and mountains, and a camping trip in the cold forests would be ideal. You should also visit Montreal and Vancouver, which are known for being beautiful cities.

Unfortunately, Canada is not open for American travelers, but if you have dual citizenship you don’t have to worry about a thing.

New Zealand

You might have jealously scrolled through posts on social media about New Zealand’s COVID-free nation over the past months. Yes, it’s true, New Zealand was declared COVID-19 free and its citizens have returned back to regular life. Their Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern did a great job of dealing with the sudden boom of cases by shutting their gates to foreigners.

New Zealand is still not allowing American tourists to vacation for a short period of time, but it’s at the top of our list as soon as they do!

These beautiful winter landscapes will have to wait!

Bali (Indonesia)

Bali has been a top travel destination for tourists all around the world for decades! It’s known for being particularly affordable as well as a beautiful tropical paradise of an island to visit.

Over the past few years, it’s been known to get more expensive to stay in higher-end resorts, and the island has been getting much more crowded with tourists from all over the world.

Bali has also opened its doors to tourists this year, but with the necessary precautions. The travelers have to have a working permit, as well as a COVID medical certificate. You will also have to take the RT-PCR test, which should be done a few days before the day of departure!

Safe Travels!

Wherever you decide to go, make sure that you follow the safety precautions that are advised. Be cognizant of each countries’ local practices as well – some countries are only particular about the wearing of masks while others insist on gloves as well. Always keep your distance from the people you encounter, especially the locals who may be biased against tourists already.

Amidst all the precautions, you can still have a dose of normalcy with your loved ones for a cozy get away. You deserve it!
