Eating out is an big part of the travel experience, as it enables tourists to dive into the local cuisine, culture and habits, all at once. It offers a tasty take on discovering a new country and knowing where to go is quite important. Factual, a company providing data for web and mobile apps and mobile advertising, has partnered with TripAdvisor to integrate restaurant information from its Global Places data set into the travel site’s dining options and reviews. Factual will also get TripAdvisor‘s user generated information and integrate it in Global Places, to keep it fresh and accurate.Â
“The addition of Factual’s Global Places data to complement TripAdvisor’s current offering will provide consumers the best experience and enormous choices for dining worldwide,” said Eva Ho, Factual’s VP of Marketing and Operations. “The stream of contributions provided by TripAdvisor’s users will reinforce Factual’s Global Places position as the leading source for definitive global data on places.”
Both partners share a global approach in their business, mixing the 30 countries where TripAdvisor operates with Global Places’ coverage of 50 countries being quite enticing for travelers looking to plan their trip by reviewing online resources. As a result, travelers will be offered over one million restaurants to explore and later review.
“We appreciate working with creative data providers who can scale and grow with all our data initiatives across the globe,” says Daniel Hawkins, Product Manager at TripAdvisor. “Factual will help us provide a much better user experience.”
