5 TV Shows to Watch on Plane

traveling tips

One of the entertainment options for me on flights has always been downloading a series on my iPad or laptop and binge-watching for the whole duration of my flight. This allows me to watch the series I have been wanting to or re-watch the series I love with feeling guilty for binge-watching. Here are some of my recommendations for shows that make great travel companions.

1. The Office

The Office is and will always be my absolute favorite. I have watched it so many times that I can most probably tell you what line is from episode even in my sleep. The awkward humor is so hilarious that you will have to stop yourself from laughing out loud. While the British version came first, the US version is what is the most popular and honestly, better.

2. Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is one of the greatest TV shows to ever have been made. At first, I was skeptical about watching it, but once I started I couldn’t stop. The seriousness of the issue and the clear delivery of the show gets your mind gears going and will suck you in big time. High school chemistry teacher who gets cancer thinks about raising money by cooking meth and the chaos that ensues is one of the finest story writing examples.

3. Friends

Friends is common on the lists of the greatest TV shows of all time. Many people grew up with it, and the people who have watched it have gotten attached to the characters. It represents what most people struggle with, in their lives and what they want from life. It is a funny rendition of reality and desire which is why it has stood the test of time. You can just keep watching your favorite episodes again and again.

4. The IT Crowd

I don’t know why but the struggles of IT people is something that everyone enjoys. The three-person endearing tech team gives us ridiculous yet relatable humor. It is a fun show to binge. Light shows that shed some light on struggles is a great series to binge on a flight. You don’t have to be completely alert to watch it.

5. The End of the F***ing World

While all the other shows are light comedies but if you are a fan of dark comedy then this one season, 8 episodes show is for you. It is a dark comedy about a 17-year-old who is withdrawn and disturbed and believes that he is a psychopath and his relationship with Alyssa who is his classmate and is, equally if not more, damaged by a dysfunctional family. It is basically about two deeply troubled, misanthropic teenagers who find comfort in one another. They are willing to do anything, even if it is illegal, to maintain their relationship. Considering there is only one season and even the episodes aren’t that long and its binge-worthy nature, it can easily be watched in one sitting.
