Vienna’s Schonbrunn Palace has a lot to offer apart from the tours of beautifully decorated rooms where the royalty used to live. The gardens are amazing if you happen to be visiting at the right time, the Christmas fair and lights are warm and speak of childhood, and the Schonbrunn Zoo is always a treat. While there are lions and snakes and monkeys and horses, the penguins will always be the stars of any show! Just think Madagascar, any of them, and the famous “Smile and wave, boys! Smile and wave!” phrase. No wonder I spent the longest stretch of my 3 hour visit to the Zoo admiring and photographing the penguins!
