Mobile tours and apps are fast becoming an important part of the travel experience. Instead of carrying guide books, fliers or other electronic devices guiding them on their sightseeing experience, travelers much prefer to have everything on the smartphone or tablet they are already carrying. Museums across the world will now be able to easily create mobile apps or mobile tours for their visitors with the new downloadable version of NOUSConductor, a software solution developed by NOUSGuide.
This new version of the mobile solution enables museums to create tours that are broadcast through in-house players or to create tours or apps that visitors can download on their devices, both Android and iOS. Â Using NOUSConductor, museums can create mobile content for permanent collections or special apps for temporary exhibitions or events.
While the new downloadable version of NOUSConductor which will be released on April 11th will be extremely accessible to any museum, it is not a new product. It has been used by museums such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Hirschsprung Museum, Copenhagen, and the National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne, Australia) ever since 2007.
“We want to put museums in charge of their own mobile programs. The NOUSConductor provides museums with the flexibility to create and manage their own mobile tours and Apps without the costs of custom development or the burden of a long-term contract,” commented NOUSguide CEO Alexander Stickelberger.
The new release comes in two versions, basic and pro. It also allows for a 30 days free trial and then it can be purchased as a service for a low monthly fee. Some of the core features include templates and support for all media types, audio, video and images, multilingual support for tours targeting visitors from several different countries, a centralized account for the Apple App store that eases the app approval process and integration with Twitter and Facebook, to make social sharing easy.
