The American Northeast is definitely a part of the United States you should take your time exploring. To make sure you can get a taste of everything, from the creative arts haven in Rochester, New York, to the National Historic District of Pittsburgh, we’ve come up with five budget destinations in this region.

Rochester
If you’re an art enthusiast, then you have to explore Rochester. Well-known for the creative arts scene and its fine selection of nightclubs, restaurants, and lounges, it is also the home of the founding father of film and photography, George Eastman. Be sure to visit the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film. Pick any of the Rochester hotels we’ve selected for you for your stay: try Radisson Hotel Rochester Airport or Quality Inn Rochester Airport if you want to be on time for takeoff, the Courtyard by Marriott Rochester Brighton to be close to the Brighton park, or Staybridge Suites Rochester University to get a feel of the Rochester University campus.
Providence
If you’re looking to attend any of the events and festivals happening in Rhode Island or simply explore the area, Providence is your destination of choice. If you’re looking for budget accommodation in the area, Providence hotels offer a better alternative than other nearby destinations. Remember these hotels generally offer great last-minute deals, so check out Providence Biltmore, Curio Collection by Hilton, Sheraton Providence Airport Hotel, Clarion Inn Seekonk – Providence, or our favorite, Wyndham Garden Providence with its outdoor adventures, fitness center, its proximity to The Roger Williams Park Zoo, and the colorful Dunkin Donuts Center.
Long Island
Sandy beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, the Long Island promenades, the scenic views of Eastern neighborhoods.Everything in Long Island points to a nature lover’s paradise. Close enough to New York City, you’ll be delighted by views of the Big Apple’s brilliant skyline, but Long Island hotels will also make a smaller dent in your budget. If you want to pay New York City prices and still enjoy the sandy beaches and nature walk, there’s always The Hamptons and the other Eastern-side hot spots. We suggest you try Ravel Hotel or The Boro Hotel first. Or stay at The Paper Factory Hotel which is set, as the name suggests, in a restored paper factory.
Pittsburgh
Birth place of the Ferris Wheel and the Internet emoticon, Pittsburgh is popular among architecture lovers who come to explore its fifteen Victorian blocks in the south side. Foodies prefer the Strip District and art lovers favor Oakland. Pittsburgh hotels come at all prices. If you really want to stay on budget, avoid the peak season – June to October – and remember to book well in advance. Some of our favorite choices are the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh Airport, Double Tree by Hilton Hotels & Suites, and Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center.
Burlington
Typically a budget destination, Burligton is even cheaper if you avoid the middle of the summer and all major holidays. Yet the Kite Festival and World Racquetball Tournament in June might be worth the extra dollars. Our favorite Burlington hotels are Hotel Vermont, Hilton Burlington, or Green Mountain Suites Hotel for its Jacuzzi and fireplace combo.
