CityPASS launches community travel site City Traveler

CityPASS, ticket booklet offering 50% discount on admission to popular attractions in cities around the USA, has just launched City Traveler, a community site where tourists can share their city getaway experiences, tips and photos. The site encourages city travelers to discuss all the aspects of their visits, from food and hotels to cultural hot spots and popular attractions.

As CityPASS states, the purpose of City Traveler is to extend the enjoyment of city trips for travelers who are members of the community. The get excited by the trip long before it happens, as they ask questions and read about other people’s experiences and remember the fun they have afterwards when sharing their photos and reviews of places they have visited.

“City Traveler is a great place for people who love to travel to ask questions before their trips or to share their personal experiences, as well as to post photos, reviews and videos,” said Sloan Prissel, CityPASS’s senior director of Internet marketing. “The official CityPASS blog is part of City Traveler too. We’ve worked really hard to ensure that the community is both highly informative and fun.”

The majority of City Traveler’s content is user generated, including photos, videos, travel logs and reviews of travel services. CityPASS moderates all the content and provides the rest of the information published on the community site. While you have to be a City Traveler member to post photos, videos and reviews or to join the on-site conversations, non-members can always access all the content posted on the site.

To boost the new travel community’s online presence, CityPASS has also launched a contest – a giveaway of iPods that go to randomly picked travelers that register as members of City Traveler by the end of October. Those who have the time for more complicated actions, such as posting reviews or interact on CityPASS’s Facebook page, will compete for other prizes as well.
