Anaheim starts its yearly celebration in February, and the festivals keep going until late spring. Before the summer high temperatures and the peak season hit, here’s a list of happenings you must attend. Browse through our list, book your stay at one of the many Anaheim hotels, and get the party started!

Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year – The Vietnamese community’s biggest holiday, the Garden Grove event is the biggest celebration of Tet in the entire United States. This February event actually marks the beginning of spring. Tet is the best way to discover Vietnamese ceremonies and customs and sample the traditional cuisine.

Laguna Beach Music Festival – Nothing says “spring is here” like a music festival. A mix of well-known performers and newcomers to the music scene, Laguna Beach features both classical quartet music and modern songs, along with traditions from across the globe and visual arts installations.

OC Restaurant Week – March kicks off the festivals with a culinary event all foodies would give anything to attend. The county’s best 100 restaurants will showcase their culinary skills at incredibly low prices throughout this event. Make sure you bring your appetite!

Festival of Whales – If you want to go on a whale-watching tour and spot the California gray whales, there’s no better time than their migration from Alaska to Baja, served up with an art show, parade, street fair, and sand sculptures.

Return of the Swallows Festival – As the festivals show, Orange County is keen on celebrating nature. Swallow Day on March 19, the event that kicks of this festival is a big deal in Anaheim. It is celebrated with good food, live performances, and artistic displays. This century-old celebration observes the return of the swallows to San Juan Capistrano after their long journey from Argentina.

Newport Beach Film Festival – Premiers, galas, exclusive parties, everything you would expect from a film festival happens right between Newport Beach and Hollywood. Home to one of the largest movie consumer groups on the planet, Anaheim’s cinemas host screenings throughout the city, giving fans a chance to meet directors, actors, and screenwriters.

Doheny Blues Festival – Everyone from the legends to the up-and-comers wants their chance to shine at this May blues festival. The kickoff point of South California’s summer concert season, Doheny promises three days of the best the blues music scene has to offer.

Strawberry Festival – This is one sweet event no one should miss! While the strawberry shortcake is the star of the festival, this tradition, which started way back in the 50s, is known for more than delicious recipes and fresh fruit – carnival rides, games, a colorful parade, and performances from local artists, peppered with a celeb cameo are all on display.
