Traveling to San Francisco With Your Pet? Here’s Where to Stay!

Twin Peaks, San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the California destinations that’s always fascinated me, with its dozens of unique neighborhoods, its bustling art scene, the cable cars and the dramatic shots of the Golden Gate Bridge. From Chinatown to Fisherman’s Wharf to Pacific Heights, it’s hard to know what to see first. Add in Alcatraz, Union Square, and the world-class restaurants, and it’s hard to even come up with an itinerary unless you have about a month to explore the city.

If, like me, you sometimes travel with your furry friends, then you need some help navigating the numerous San Francisco hotels. I always want to have plenty of options, and pet-friendly hotels often come out on top. I always like to be extra cautious and invest in the best pet insurance, like Bivvy insurance, to make sure my pet stays safe during our trip.

Upscale Hotel in Union Square

If you like to pamper yourself, then the central Hotel Zelos San Francisco is a great choice. This sophisticated venue is defined by bold, contemporary design, upscale services, and great dining experiences at the Dirty Habit. Comfortable, spacious rooms and suites with plush beds spoil you, and this pet-friendly venue comes with complimentary Wi-Fi, newspapers, coffee and tea service, and a 24-hour fitness center. For an extra twist, try the in-room spa services. Enjoy the nearby Moscone Center, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts, the Yerba Buena Gardens, or shop in Union Square or at the Westfield Shopping Centre.

Luxurious Accommodation in the Financial District

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco is a great choice for both business and leisure travelers who have a taste for finer amenities. Hyatt Grand beds with luxury linens, designer bath products, executive work desks, and a lounge chair to enjoy your down time make the rooms quite enticing. This pet-friendly hotel also offers child care services and a child care center. Fisherman’s Wharf, the San Francisco Zoo, and the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market are all close by.

Affordable Stay Near the Business District

If you’re a budget traveler, then the CitiGarden Hotel should be on your list, especially with its location near the city center and the business district. The pet-friendly rooms feature desks with two data ports and free Wi-Fi to keep you connected if you’re working, and you can request refrigerators and microwaves for an extra charge. Enjoy the dog exercise ground, the free breakfast, and on-site parking, as well as the hotel’s proximity to South San Francisco Convention Center and the Tanforan Shopping Center.

Cheap Airport Hotel

For an even more affordable stay, an airport hotel that is pet-friendly is a great choice. At La Quinta Inn San Francisco Airport North, all rooms come with free Wi-Fi, coffee makers, and free breakfast. Comfortable beds, free parking, and airport shuttle service make this hotel an even better choice. Despite being an airport hotel, it’s surrounded by top-rated restaurants like the Flavas Jamaican Grill, and the San Francisco Zoo is a quick ride away.
