Paradise Island Resort & Spa to Host World Travel Awards Indian Ocean

One of the most well-known luxury resorts in the Maldives, Paradise Island Resort & Spa will host the World Travel Awards on May 12th 2013. The resort has the local name Lankanfinolhu and was opened in 1994. Located in North Male’ Atoll, at only 9.6km from the airport, Paradise Island is 1km long and 230 meters wide and offers visitors comfort, luxury, and a wide range of sports both on land and on the sea. Numerous restaurants that will accommodate various tastes can also be found here.

“It is our pleasure and honour that Paradise Island is to host of the forthcoming World Travel Wards Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony on May 12th 2013,” said Qaisar Nazeem, General manager of the Paradise Island Resort & Spa.

“It is the first time for such a prestigious event in the Maldives, and we are proud to be given this opportunity to serve the hoteliers and travel industry.

“We hope that this event will be a success and will open more doors in the expansion of our tourism industry to a wider market.”

Travel industry leaders will meet on this island to compete for awards in the more than 32 categories of the World Travel Awards Indian Ocean in May.

“We are delighted that Paradise Island Resort & Spa, part of the Villa Hotels & Resorts, group are hosting this event,” stated Sion Rapson, World Travel Awards global business director.

“Last year we had vigorous interest in all of the award categories and this gave us the impetus to have an Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony as a standalone event.

“Partnering with exceptionally strong tourism bodies such as Let’s Go Maldives, Maldives Tourism Promotion Board and Azidon indicates the enthusiasm and commitment those Maldives organisations have for maintaining their position as a world leader in the region.”

With its great scenery, first class service and wide range of activities available, Paradise Island Resort & Spa is a lovely décor for a very important industry event.
