Hertz Consolidates its Position in South Africa

The Hertz Corporation, the world’s largest general use car rental brand, announced today that it inked a partnership with Holiday Holdings International and appointed this company as its exclusive General Sales Agent (GSA) in Southern Africa. Through this deal, Hertz wants to reach to 8,800 locations worldwide in 150 countries. Holiday Holdings International has to increase outbound car rental reservations from South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

“For more than 90 years, Hertz has helped millions of customers from all over the world enjoy the freedom of the open road, and we view Southern Africa as an important emerging source market for our international car rentals” eExplained Michel Taride, Group President, RAC International , Hertz Corporation.

“With its wealth of travel trade experience and in-depth market knowledge of Southern African countries, Holiday Holdings International is ideally positioned to help Hertz expand its long-term outbound growth strategy for key global markets such as the USA and Europe,” he added.

The majority of Hertz’s customers coming from Southern Africa chose USA in 2012, followed by European countries such as UK, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Greece, and Spain.

Holiday Holdings International has a vast travel trade experience and in-depth market knowledge of Southern African countries, thus making this company the best partner for the well known car rental brand. In order to service the travel trade and corporate market, the company set up a local reservations office and call centre for Hertz in the Randburg district of Johannesburg.
