I’ve actually only driven through Salt Lake City on my way from NE to CA. You mention good outdoor activities, anything in particular you’d recommend?

  2. I had no idea La Quinta Hotels were pet-friendly. Does that hold true for the whole chain or just certain hotels? I’ve only been to Salt Lake once but have enjoyed exploring Utah’s incredible National Parks. This is helpful info for anyone looking to visit or transit through Park City on a trip out west.

  3. Mar says:

Cheesecake and cider! Anniversary inn would be my choice and not just because you get those free 😉 I like a little bit of luxury

  4. Complimentary cheesecake and sparkling cider?! I’m in! Most likely, however, I would visit with the kids so I think the Red Lion would be more suitable for us. I’ll just have to go out and buy cheesecake instead 🙂

  5. Jenna says:

We visited Salt Lake City several times last year for work, and didn’t have a choice on where to stay, but I’d love to check some of these hotels out on our next visit! The Royal Garden Inn looks like a great, affordable hotel, but if we wanted to splurge a bit, the North Temple Inn and the The Anniversary Inn – Fifth South would be awesome! I love that the Anniversary Inn has free cheesecake and sparkling cider–what a cool touch!

I’ve been to Utah before but only on a bus tour to Bryce Canyon. Didn’t really realize Salt Lake City which I’ve heard about before, is also part of Utah. Anyway, so next time I’m there I already have options on where to stay! 🙂

I do not think I will ever get the chance to visit this city in the US, because it is not easy to reach for casual tourists. I hope I get to attend a convention there for me to see it.

  9. I’ve never been to Salt Lake City, but those things look awesome. Anywhere with complimentary cheesecake is ok with me!

I’m not looking into visiting Salt Lake city any time soon, but it sounds like a great place. The “budget” place seems like something I would be able to afford, so I’d probably pick that place. I don’t think I’ll be bringing our pet though, but it’s good to know that there are budget places that welcome pets.

Thanks for the recommendations! If only you can share some photos of your recommendations, that will be so much better as we can view it through you instead of searching ourselves

    • I could never get all the photos for each hotel to make them relevant, that’s why I’d rather showcase photos of the destination and link the hotel, so that everyone can browse to their extensive galleries 🙂

  24. The Anniversary Inn sounds great! Would note that down when i’m choosing accommodations for Salt Lake city.

  25. Thanks for the information, will take note on that when I have a chance to go to Salt Lake City.
